INTRODUCTION
Article 88 (4) of Labour Proclamation No. 1156/2019, which provides for the calculation of the maternity leave based on working days is amended so as the calculation be converted to consecutive days, as per Corrigendum No. 15/2020, which is attached with the Microfinance Business (Amendment) Proclamation No. 1164/2019.
Accordingly, Article 88 (4) of Labour Proclamation No. 1156/2019 is amended so as it reads “where a pregnant worker does not deliver within the 30 consecutive days of her prenatal leave, she is entitled to an additional leave until her confinement in accordance with sub-article 2 of this Article. However, if birth takes place before the expiry of the pre-natal leave, the 90 consecutive days of post-natal leave shall commence.”
